Przedmiotem badań jest zjawisko przemocy w szkole podstawowej w opinii uczniów i nauczycieli. Celem jest zdiagnozowanie zachowań przemocowych wśród uczniów i ich formy radzenia sobie z problemem przez badanych. W oparciu o tak sformułowany przedmiot i cel badań postawiono następujące problemy badawcze:Jakie są przejawy występowania przemocy wśród uczniów szkoły podstawowej? Jakie cechy określają uczniów przejawiających agresję i przemoc?Jak przedstawia się sylwetka uczniów stających się ofiarą przemocy w szkole?W jakich sytuacjach uczniowie przejawiają zachowania agresywne?Jakie działania podejmowane są przez nauczycieli w sytuacji występowania przemocy w szkole?Jak nauczyciele i uczniowie rozumieją zjawisko przemocy?W badaniach wykorzystano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego (technika ankiety). Badaniem objęto 100 uczniów klasy 5 i 6 szkoły podstawowej oraz 70 nauczycieli. Analiza wyników przeprowadzonych badań wyraźnie pokazuje, iż przemoc i agresja w szkole podstawowej to zjawisko powszechne. Uczniowie najczęściej chcąc pokazać swoją pozycję w grupie dokuczają swoim rówieśnikom. Zachowania agresywne wciąż nabierają nowych form, a zjawisko występowania aktów przemocy w środowisku szkolnym rośnie. W opinii nauczycieli do przemocy dochodzi głównie w sytuacjach konfliktu między uczniami, zaczynając od niewinnych zaczepek kończąc na poważnych działaniach agresywnych. Badania wykazały, iż w szkole nauczyciele wdrażają programy zapobiegawcze dotyczące agresji i przemocy uczniów w ramach godzin wychowawczych oraz poprzez spotkania z pedagogiem.
