Niniejsza praca magisterska obejmuje zagadnienie wolnomularstwa w Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki w latach 1730 – 1790. Rozdział pierwszy przybliża czytelnikowi temat masonerii - definiuje ją, ukazuje jej początki, a także filozofię. Wymienia i opisuje poszczególne stopnie wtajemniczenia i ryty oraz wybrane symbole i ich znaczenie. Rozdział drugi obrazuje początki Ruchu w osiemnastowiecznych koloniach Stanów Zjednoczonych – informuje gdzie i kiedy powstały pierwsze loże, kim byli pierwsi wolnomularze oraz jak postrzegało ich społeczeństwo. Rozdział trzeci prezentuje działalność lóż w czasie amerykańskiej Wojny o Niepodległość, jak również problemy, jakie napotykali masoni w owych czasach. Ponadto przybliża sylwetki wybitnych postaci owego okresu jak Jerzy Waszyngton, Benjamin Franklin czy Paul Revere.

The work presents the question of freemasonry in the United States of America in the years 1730 – 1790. Chapter one gives the general view of the fraternity – it defines it, shows its origins as well as its philosophy. It lists and describes respective degrees and rites as well as their meaning. Chapter two depicts the early days of freemasonry in the Eighteenth – Century American colonies – it informs when and where the first masonic lodges started, who the freemasons were and how they were perceived by the society. Finally, chapter three presents the activity of the lodges during the American War of Independence – it shows the problems Masons encountered those days. What is more it, presents the profile of the leading freemasons like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Paul Revere.
