Jastorf Culture materials from the Polish lands.

Celem pracy jest przedstawienie znalezisk charakterystycznych dla kultury jastorfskiej z terenów ziem Polski. Koncentruje się ona jednakże na nowych znaleziskach, spoza obszaru objętego zasięgiem grupy nadodrzańskiej i gubińskiej, pochodzących z terenu Kujaw, Wielkopolski, Mazowsza, Małopolski oraz Lubelszczyzny. Zabytki te zostały odkryte w trakcie szerokopłaszczyznowych badań wykopaliskowych wyprzedzających wielkie inwestycje, miedzy innymi autostrady. Obecność tych materiałów na wspomnianych terenach łączona jest z wędrówką Skirów i Bastarnów przez ziemie polskie.Wyniki analizy omawianych materiałów pozwalają sądzić, że wędrówka ta nie była jedynie krótkim epizodem. Można stwierdzić, że część ludności kultury jastorfskiej na stałe osiadła na terenach, na których później doszło do wykształcenia się kultury przeworskiej. Można ponadto przypuszczać, że ludność ta odegrała kluczową rolę w procesie kształtowania się ostatnio wymienionej jednostki kulturowej.

The topic of this paper is the presentation of Jastorf Culture artifacts from so far unconnected to this culture areas of Poland. This discourse focuses on the new artifacts from the area of Kuyavia, Greater Poland, Masovia, Lesser Poland and Lublin Voivodeship. Areas connected to Nadodrzańska and Gubińska groups of Jastorf Culture will not be included. Those artifacts have been found during wide-range excavations while preparing big investments such as constructing a new free way. Presence of Jastorf Culture materials in those areas is connected to the migration of Scirii and Bastarnae through Polish lands. Analyzing the discussed materials allows to form a theory that the migration of Scirii and Bastarnae was not just a short episode of time. We may assume that part of the Jastorf Culture community had settled on the same areas on which the Przeworsk Culture formed later. It could be supposed that Jastorf Culture had a crucial role in formation process of this culture.
