Occasionalisms in children's and youth literature

Niniejsza praca dotyczy tematu okazjonalizmów w literaturze dziecięcej i młodzieżowej. Celem pracy jest omówienie wpływu na atrakcyjność tekstu oraz funkcji okazjonalizmu wobec młodych adresatów. Praca składa się z części teoretycznej i analitycznej. Część teoretyczna przedstawia charakterystykę i terminologię okazjonalizmów oraz przedstawia niezbędne kategorie, które służące odróżnieniu okazjonalizmów od innych nowych formacji słownych. Wymienione kategorie to: słowo nowość i efekt nowości, stopień leksykalizacji, częstotliwość, kontekstualność, akceptacja i powtarzalność. Ponadto omówiono ogólne funkcje okazjonalizmów, które zostały podzielone na funkcje nazewnicze, funkcje stylistyczne oraz funkcje słowotwórcze w literaturze dziecięcej. W części analitycznej wyjaśniono funkcje zabawy swobodnej na wybranych przykładach z literatury dziecięcej i młodzieżowej. Pierwszy podrozdział dotyczy słowotwórstwa w książkach J.K. Rowling „Harry Potter”. Słownictwo Astrid Lindgren jest następnie rozwijane w „Pippi Pończoszanka”. Trzecia część skupia się na „Rico, Oskar i głębokie cienie” Andreasa Steinhöfela. Na koniec przedstawiono podsumowanie wniosków.

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of occasionalism in children's and youth literature. The aim of the work is to discuss the impact on the attractiveness of the text and the function of occasionalism towards young recipients. The work consists of theoretical and analytical parts. The theoretical part presents the characteristics and terminology of occasionalism and presents the necessary categories to distinguish occasionalism from other new verbal formations. The mentioned categories are: the word novelty and novelty effect, degree of lexicalization, frequency, contextualism, acceptance and repetition. In addition, the general functions of occasionalism were discussed, which were divided into nomenclature functions, stylistic functions and word-formation functions. In the analytical part, the functions of occasionalism are explained on the basis of selected examples of children's and youth literature. The first subsection deals with word formation in the books of J.K. Rowling "Harry Potter". Then the vocabulary of Astrid Lindgren is discussed in "Pippi Langstrumpf". The third part focuses on "Rico, Oskar und die Tieferschatten" by Andreas Steinhöfel. The final part presents the conclusions.

Die vorliegende Arbeit behandelt das Thema der Okkasionalismen in der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur. Ziel der Arbeit ist es den Einfluss auf die Attraktivität des Textes und die Funktionen der Okkasionalismen in Bezug auf die jungen Adressaten zu behandeln. Die Arbeit umfasst einen theoretischen und einen analytischen Teil. Der theoretische Teil behandelt sowohl die Charakterisierung und die Terminologie der Okkasionalismen, wie auch die Darlegung der notwendigen Kategorien, die zur Differenzierung der Okkasionalismen von anderen Neuwortbildungen dienen. Die Kategorien sind: die Wortneuheit und der Neuheitseffekt, der Lexikalisierungsgrad, die Häufigkeit, die Kontextgebundenheit, die Akzeptanz und die Reproduzierbarkeit. Zusätzlich werden generelle Funktionen von Okkasionalismen erörtert, die in Benennungsfunktionen, Stilistische Funktionen, Funktionen der Wortneubildung in der Kinderliteratur geteilt werden. Der analytische Teil beleuchtet die Funktionen von Okkasionalismen in Bezug auf ausgewählte Beispiele aus der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur. Das erste Kapitel behandelt die Wortbildung in J.K. Rowlings „Harry Potter“. Als nächstes wird der Wortschatz von Astrid Lindgren in „Pippi Langstrumpf“ behandelt und als letztes „Rico, Oskar und die Tieferschatten” von Andreas Steinhöfel. Die Schlussfolgerungen werden im Schlussteil dargestellt.
