Fatal passion as a main theme in the "Small Tragedies" of A. Pushkin

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest motyw fatalnych namiętności jako wiodący w „Małych tragediach” Aleksandra Puszkina. Celem pracy jest udowodnienie, że fatalne namiętności są jednym z głównych obrazów, występujących w tych krótkich etiudach scenicznych. Pierwszy rozdział ma na celu przybliżenie okresu twórczości Aleksandra Puszkina przed wyjazdem do Bołdino oraz główne powody podjęcia decyzji przez poetę o wyjeździe. Dzieła opisane w tym rozdziale miały znaczący wpływ na twórczość Aleksandra Sergiejewicza w okresie boldińskim. Następnie można znaleźć informacje na temat dzieł stworzonych w majątku poety.Drugi rozdział ujmuje termin „namiętności” w oparciu o definicje słownikowe oraz literaturę psychologiczną. Zawiera także informacje na temat namiętności, które odegrały znaczącą rolę w życiu Puszkina. Ostatnia cześć drugiego rozdziału ukazuje temat „fatalnych namiętności” na podstawie treści jednego z poematów południowych „Cyganie”. Kolejna z tragedii „Gość kamienny” to swoisty hymn do miłości, tej prawdziwej i wiecznej, a ostatnia z cyklu – „Uczta podczas dżumy” zawiera opis postaw jakie prezentują bohaterowie w obliczu nieuchronnie zbliżającej się śmierci.Z analizy treści wynika, że motyw „fatalnych namiętności” istotnie jest wiodący w „Małych tragediach” A.Puszkina.

The topic of the present paper is the theme of fatal passion as a leading in the "Small tragedies" of Alexander Pushkin. The purpose of the paper is to prove that the fatal passion is one of the main theme appearing in these short tragedies.The first chapter is devoted to the writings of Alexander Pushkin’s period before leaving to Boldino and the main reasons regarding the decision about it. The writings described in this section have a significant impact on the work of Alexander Sergeyevich during Boldino period. There is also an information about the works written in the estate of the poet.The second chapter explains the term "passion" based on dictionary definitions and psychological literature. It also contains an information about the passions, which have a significant meaning in Pushkin’s life. The last part of the second chapter presents the topic "fatal passion" based on the content of one of the southern poems - "Gypsies".The third chapter deals with the leading topic of passion in the context of "small tragedies". "The Covetous Knight" shows the avarice and greed of money which are leading to the destruction of man, "Mozart and Saleri" represents mainly feature of envy in a professional world based on the example of two well-known composers. The next tragedy "Stone Guest" is a kind of love anthem: true and eternal. The last poem of the series - "A feast in time of Plague" describes the attitudes of the characters presented in the face of impending death.The content analysis shows that the theme "fatal passion" is, in fact, a leading theme in the "small tragedies" of Alexander Pushkin..
