The development of language competence in children and adolescents during the era of Internet communication and computer jargon.

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest: Rozwijanie kompetencji językowych u dzieci i młodzieży w dobie komunikacji internetowej i komputerowej nowomowy. Praca została podzielona na trzy rozdziały. Pierwszy rozdział prezentuje zagadnienia teoretyczne -porusza kwestie świadomości i kompetencji językowej, komunikacji internetowej oraz nowomowy komputerowej. Rozdział drugi - część badawcza pracy - zawiera analizę ankiet przeprowadzonych wśród uczniów szkoły podstawowej i gimnazjum. Celem tych badań było określenie roli Internetu w życiu ucznia i wpływu komunikacji internetowej na język polski. Rozdział trzeci zawiera osiem konspektów lekcji języka polskiego, składających się na cykl lekcyjny przeznaczony do przeprowadzenia w gimnazjum. Cykl dotyczy zjawisk językowych związanych z komunikacją internetową i jest ukierunkowany na rozwój językowy ucznia.

The topic of this paper is: The Development of language competence in children and adolescents during the era of Internet communication and computer jargon. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is concerned with theoretical issues including awareness of language, linguistic competence, Internet communications and computer jargon. The second chapter incorporates a part of the research which provides an analysis of surveys conducted among students in primary schools as well junior high schools. The aim of this research was to evaluate the role of the Internet in the lives of students and to determine the influence of Internet communication on the Polish language. The third section contains an eight-stage lesson plan of the Polish language to compose a series of lessons designed to be applied in junior high schools. This cycle relates to linguistic phenomena associated with Internet communications and it is focused on the development of the language learner.
