Pinaceae family in the collection in Herbarium of the Institute of Botany of the Jagiellonian University (KRA)

Przeprowadzono inwentaryzację materiałów zielnikowych należących do rodziny Pinaceae zgromadzonych w Herbarium Instytutu Botaniki Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Dokonano analizy: ogólnej, historycznej, geograficznej oraz identyfikację zbieraczy. Przeglądany materiał zielnikowy rodziny Pinaceae obejmuje rodzaje: Abies, Cedrus, Larix, Pseudotsuga, Picea, Pinus, Tsuga. Stworzono spis wszystkich informacji zawartych na etykietach wraz z opisem zdeponowanego materiału zielnikowego. Wykazano, że rodzina Pinaceae liczy 1044 arkuszy zielnikowych z liczbą gatunków 166, zebranych przez 260 zbieraczy. Arkusze zielnikowe pochodzą z zagranicznych uczelni, uniwersytetów, ogrodów botanicznych, wydawnictw zielnikowych/eksykat oraz kolekcji prywatnych osób. Historycznie zbiór obejmuje lata 1821-2010,a najstarszy okaz zielnikowy to Pinus pinaster Aiton. Większość zbiorów pochodzi ze strefy umiarkowanej półkuli północnej, najwięcej z Europy oraz Stanów Zjednoczonych.

An inventory of herbal materials belonging to the Pinaceae family at the Herbarium of the Institute of Botany at the Jagiellonian University was done. A few kinds of analysis was done: general one, historical, geographical, as well as identification of collectors. The herbarium material of the Pinaceae family includes following genera: Abies, Cedrus, Larix, Pseudotsuga, Picea, Pinus, Tsuga. A list of all the pieces of information contained on the labels was done along with a description of the deposited herbarium material. It has been shown that the Pinaceae family embraces 1044 herbarium sheets (166 species) collected by 260 collectors. Herbarium sheets come from foreign universities, botanical gardens, herbalists/expatriates and private collections. Historically, the collection includes material collected within the years 1821-2010, and the oldest specimen is Pinus pinaster Aiton. Most of the collection comes from the Northern Hemisphere, most from Europe and the United States.
