Trzy koncepcje uprawdziwiania

We współczesnej debacie o uprawdziwianiu pojawiły się liczne tzw. „mechanizmy uprawdziwiania” (ukoniecznianie, superweniencja, wynikanie, ugruntowanie, projekcja, „pasowanie”, schemat B, schemat T, zależność istotowa, dyskwotacja). Argumentuję, że można odróżnić trzy pojęcia uprawdziwiania (semantyczne, ontologiczne, metafizyczne) oraz, że wszystkie mechanizmy uprawdziwiania sprowadzają się do jednego z nich (ewentualnie łączą kilka z nich). Za Romanem Ingardenem przedstawiam rozróżnienie na ontologię (domenę tego, co możliwe) oraz metafizykę (domenę faktów). W ten sposób pokazuję nowy tryb uprawdziwiania, dotychczas niezauważony. Ponadto, twierdzę, że istnieje różnica między faktami kategorialnymi (egzemplifikacje uniwersaliów/prawdziwe nośniki prawdziwości o ustalonej naturze) i funkcjonalnymi (teoretyczny postulat metafizycznego pojęcia uprawdziwiania o otwartej naturze). Problemy z faktami, które prowadziły do odrzucania faktów przez metafizyków, pojawiły się z powodu umieszczania faktów na poziomie ontologicznym a nie metafizycznym.

In the contemporary debate about truthmaking there emerged numerous so called “mechanisms of truthmaking” (necessitation, supervenience, entailment, grounding, projection, matching, B-schema, T-schema, essential dependence, disquotation). However, I argue that one could distinguish between three concepts of truthmaking (semantic, ontological and metaphysical) and that all mechanisms of truthmaking either come down to one of them or combine several of them. Following Roman Ingarden I put forward the distinction between ontology (domain of possibilities) and metaphysics (domain of facts). In this way I show a new mode of truthmaking that was not notice yet. Furthermore, I hold that there is a difference between facts in the categorial (exemplifications of universals/true truthbearers with determined nature) and functional (theoretical postulate of the metaphysical concept of truthmaking with open nature) sense. Problems with facts, which led to dispensing by metaphysicians with this notion, appeared because of putting facts on the ontological, instead of metaphysical level.
