Stigma and exclusion of people with mental illness and their prevention

Tematem pracy jest stygmatyzacja i wykluczenie społeczne osób chorych psychicznie oraz przeciwdziałanie tym zjawiskom. W pracy zostały wyjaśnione takie pojęcia jak: zdrowie, choroba czy zaburzenie. Praca zawiera analizę rysu historyczno-kulturowego percypowania choroby psychicznej. W rozprawie zostały opisane główne teorie związane ze stygmatyzacją oraz zjawiska pokrewne, takie jak uprzedzenia, stereotypy, etykietowanie czy dyskryminacja i marginalizacja. Praca zawiera analizę pojęcia wykluczenia oraz sytuację osób chorych psychicznie na poszczególnych płaszczyznach życia społecznego. Zwrócono również uwagę na rolę jaką w walce z wykluczeniem społecznym odgrywa ekonomia społeczna.

The theme of the work is the stigma and social exclusion of the mentally ill and the fight against these phenomena. In this paper explained concepts such as health, disease or disorder. The paper contains an analysis of the historical-cultural feature of perception of mental illness. In the thesis described the main theories associated with stigma and related phenomena, such as prejudice, stereotyping, labeling and discrimination and marginalization. The paper contains an analysis of the concept of exclusion and the situation of the mentally ill at the various levels of society. Attention was also drawn to the role in the fight against social exclusion plays a social economy.
