The Croatian and the Polish sports journalistic style. The analysis of the chosen issues

Niniejsza praca traktuje o języku chorwackiego i polskiego dziennikarstwa sportowego. Poprzez zastosowanie metody porównawczej chciano odnaleźć elementy wspólne dla obu języków występujące w tekstach dziennikarstwa sportowego oraz wyselekcjonować cechy charakterystyczne tylko dla jednego języka. Jednak ze względu na rozmiary pracy zostało poruszonych tylko kilka kwestii związanych z językiem i specyfiką dziennikarstwa. Każdemu wybranemu aspektowi jest poświęcony odrębny rozdział.Praca składa się z sześciu rozdziałów. Pierwszy jest poświęcony opisowi stylu dziennikarskiego oraz dziennikarstwu sportowemu. To rozdział teoretyczny, o tym jak powinien wyglądać język dziennikarstwa sportowego i czym się on charakteryzuje. Wspomniano w nim również o słownictwie sportowym, terminologii i socjolektach, a także o wpływie słownictwa sportowego na inne dziedziny.Rozdział drugi traktuje o zapożyczeniach występujących w tekstach sportowych. Zostały w nim podane przykłady leksemów zapożyczonych z różnych języków, które są chętnie używane przez dziennikarzy w ich tekstach. Przytoczone wyrazy podzielono na zapożyczenia leksykalne i morfemowe oraz przeanalizowano w kilku aspektach. W tym rozdziale są także omówione hybrydy oraz inny rodzaj zapożyczeń – zapożyczenia semantyczne, czyli przeprowadzone w obrębie jednego języka.W rozdziale trzecim została poruszona kwestia uniwerbizacji. Natomiast rozdział czwarty dotyczy procesu pod pewnymi względami przeciwstawnego uniwerbizacji, czyli multiwerbizacji. Piąty rozdział pracy jest poświęcony zestawieniom i frazeologizmom występującym w tekstach sportowych.Ostatni – szósty – rozdział traktuje o manipulacji językowej stosowanej przez dziennikarzy.

The subject of this thesis is the Croatian and the polish sports journalistic style. By the use of the comparative method the author wants to find the common elements for both languages occurring in the texts of the sports journalistic style. Moreover, the author intends to select features characteristic only for one language. However, on the grounds of the size of the thesis there was mentioned only a few issues related to journalistic style. The every chosen aspect was described in the separate chapter. This thesis consists of 6 chapters. The first one was dedicated to the description of the journalistic style and the sports journalism. This theoretical chapter characterizes the features of the sports journalistic style and it describes how this language ought to look like. What is more, this chapter mentions about sports vocabulary, terminology and cant. Additionally, it also talks about the influence of the sports vocabulary on the other branches of the language. The second chapter illustrates the lean words which occur in the sports texts. This chapter enumerates the examples of lexemes willingly used by journalists in their texts and which are borrowed from different languages. The given lexemes were divided to the lexical and the morphemic borrowings and analyzed them in terms of a few aspects. Furthermore, there were discussed the hybrids and other lean words such as the semantic borrowings that are the borrowings from the area of one language. The chapter 3 focuses on the matter of the word-formation processes which consist in replacing the multi-expressions by one-word expressions.By contrast the chapter 4 is devoted to the process of the analytic constructions. The fifth chapter introduces the open compounds and idiomatic expressions occurring in the sports texts. The last chapter mentions about the linguistic manipulation used by the journalists.
