Zmiana w gatunku w tłumaczeniu Koraliny Neila Gaimana

Praca podejmuje próbę odpowiedzi na pytania, jak zmienia się gatunek w przekładzie powieści "Koralina" Neila Gaimana i jakie konkretne strategie translatorskie wpływają na to zjawisko. W pierwszym rozdziale rozpoczynam wprowadzeniem do literatury dziecięcej i młodzieżowej oraz ich głównymi cechami, a następnie podsumowuje książkę Neila Gaimana i przystępuję do analizy gatunkowej oryginału. W kolejnym rozdziale przedstawiam główne aspekty tłumaczenia literatury dziecięcej i możliwe ich przyczyny, a także strategie tłumaczeniowe zaproponowane przez Andrew Chestermana. Następnie w rozdziale trzecim dokonuję analizy polskiego tłumaczenia "Koraliny" pod kątem tego, jak zostało ono przyjęte przez polskich czytelników oraz jakie zmiany zachodzą w poszczególnych fragmentach. Na koniec przedstawiam wnioski, jakie wyciągnęłam z wcześniejszej analizy.

This paper attempts to answer the questions of how the genre is changed in the translation of Neil Gaiman’s novel "Coraline" and what specific strategies in the translation contribute to this phenomenon. In the first chapter I start with an introduction to children’s and young adult literature and their main characteristics; I then provide a summary of Neil Gaiman’s book and analyze its genre. The next chapter presents the main aspects behind children’s literature translation and the possible reasons behind them, as well as translation strategies as proposed by Andrew Chesterman. The third chapter analyzes the Polish translation of "Coraline" for how it was received by the Polish readers, and what changes occur in specific passages. Lastly, the paper presents the conclusions that have been reached based on preceding analysis.
