Thromboangiitis obliterans - a case study

Wstęp: Zakrzepowo-zarostowe zapalenie naczyń to przewlekła choroba małych i średnich naczyń krwionośnych. Jej etiologia jest nieznana, jednak wiadomo, że jest związana z paleniem tytoniu. Choroba ta jest nieuleczalna, jednak odpowiednie działania mogą zahamować lub spowolnić rozwój choroby. Chorzy potrzebują wielopłaszczyznowej opieki w zależności od stadium choroby. Ważne jest opracowanie indywidualnego, holistycznego planu opieki pielęgniarskiej, który będzie obejmował wszystkie potrzeby i problemy zdrowotne chorego. Cel: Celem pracy jest przedstawienie problemów zdrowotnych pacjenta, u którego zdiagnozowano zakrzepowo-zarostowe zapalenie naczyń.Materiał i metody: W pracy posłużono się metodą studium indywidualnego przypadku. Wykorzystane zostały następujące techniki badawcze: obserwacja, wywiad, analiza dokumentacji medycznej, pomiary oraz skalowanie.Wyniki: Opis przypadku odnosi się do 46-letniego mężczyzny, u którego 12 lat temu zdiagnozowano zakrzepowo-zarostowe zapalenie naczyń. Podczas opieki nad pacjentem oceniono jego stan biopsychospołeczny oraz przeanalizowano dokumentację medyczną. Wdrożono odpowiednie interwencje pielęgniarskie dostosowane do stanu i bieżących potrzeb oraz problemów zdrowotnych pacjenta. W czasie podejmowania opieki choremu oraz jego rodzinie udzielono wsparcia instrumentalnego, emocjonalnego oraz informacyjnego. Rozpoznane problemy pacjenta pokazały z jakimi trudnościami musi na co dzień zmagać się chory. Jednocześnie ukazały jak istotną rolę w opiece nad pacjentem spełniają rodzina oraz pielęgniarka.Wnioski: Odpowiednia opieka nad pacjentem z zakrzepowo-zarostowym zapaleniem naczyń ma duży wpływ na funkcjonowanie oraz jakość życia pacjenta.

Introduction: Thromboangiitis obliterans is a chronic disease of small and medium-sized blood vessels. Its etiology is unknown, but it is known to be related to smoking. This disease is incurable, but appropriate measures may stop or slow down the development of the disease. Patients need multifaceted care depending on the stage of the disease. It is important to develop an individual, holistic nursing care plan that covers all of the patient’s health needs and problems.Aim of the study: The aim of the study is to present the health problems of a patient diagnosed with thromboangiitis obliterans.Material and methods: The study uses the method of an individual case study. The following research techniques were used: observation, interview with the patient, analysis of medical records, measurements and scaling.Results: The case report relates to a 46 years old man who was diagnosed with thromboangiitis obliterans 12 years ago. During patient care, his biopsychosocial condition was assessed and his medical records were analyzed. Appropriate nursing interventions adapted to the patient’s condition and current needs as well as health problems were implemented. Instrumental, emotional and informational support was provided while taking care of the patient and his family. The diagnosed problems of the patient showed what difficulties he has to deal with on a daily basis. At the same time, they showed how important role in patient care is featured by the family and the nurse.Conclusions: Adequate care of a patient with thromboangiitis obliterans has a large impact on the functioning and patient’s quality of life.
