W pracy przedstawione zostały podstawy teorii szeregów Fouriera, a także kilka ich zastosowań. W pracy pokazana jest metoda rozwiązywania równań różniczkowych cząstkowych metodą rozdzielania zmiennych oraz sposób wykorzystania w tej metodzie szeregów Fouriera. W ten sposób przedstawione zostały rozwiązania równania ciepła oraz równania struny. Ostatnim zastosowaniem, o którym mowa w pracy jest wykorzystanie Dyskretnej Transformacji Kosinusowej u algorytmie kompresji JPEG.
The paper presents the foundations of the theory of Fourier series , as well as some of their applications . The study shows the method of solving partial differential equations by separation of variables and the use of the method of Fourier series . In this way presents the solution of heat equation and the equation string. The last application referred to in this work is the use of discrete cosine transform in JPEG compression algorithm .
