Legal protection of the languages ​​of national and ethnic minorities

W pracy omówiono prawne aspekty ochrony języków mniejszości narodowych i etnicznych, istotne zarówno w kontekście krajowym, jak i międzynarodowym. Języki mniejszości są ważnym elementem dziedzictwa kulturowego i tożsamości etnicznej, a ich ochrona jest kluczowa dla zachowania różnorodności kulturowej. Praca analizuje istniejące przepisy prawne oraz ich wpływ na ochronę języków mniejszości, odwołując się do dokumentów międzynarodowych, takich jak Konwencja Ramowa o Ochronie Mniejszości Narodowych i Europejska Karta Języków Regionalnych lub Mniejszościowych. Struktura pracy obejmuje trzy rozdziały: regulacje prawne dotyczące mniejszości, instrumenty ochrony języków mniejszości oraz analiza zastosowania języka urzędowego i pomocniczego w Polsce.

This bachelor’s thesis addresses the legal protection of the languages of national and ethnic minorities, a significant issue in both national and international contexts. Minority languages are important elements of cultural heritage and ethnic identity, and their protection is crucial for preserving cultural diversity. The paper analyzes existing legal provisions and their impact on the protection of minority languages, referring to international documents such as the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. The structure of the paper includes three chapters: legal regulations concerning minorities, instruments for the protection of minority languages, and an analysis of the use of official and auxiliary languages in Poland.
