The anonymous poem "Foebus abierat" - a monographical analysis

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy jest analiza anonimowego utworu łacińskiego pochodzącego z X wieku, zaczynającego się od słów "Foebus abierat...". Pierwszy rozdział porusza problemy związane z czasem i miejscem powstania utworu oraz jego atrybucją. Następnie autor pracy przechodzi do analizy strukturalnej wiersza, wzbogacając ją o podstawowe informacje dotyczące średniowiecznej wersyfikacji. Rozdział drugi omawia źródła inspiracji „Foebus abierat”, ze szczególnym naciskiem na twórczość Owidiusza. Porównując paralelne teksty, autor stara się ukazać podstawowe cechy poetyki anonimowego utworu. Ostatni rozdział zawiera podsumowanie wcześniejszych rozważań oraz próbę umieszczenia „Foebus abierat” w kontekście twórczości lirycznej pełnego średniowiecza.

The present paper focuses on the analysis and interpretation of an anonymous medieval poem. The first chapter discusses problems connected with the origin of the work and its attribution. Subsequently, the author proceeds to the structural analysis of the poem, providing basic information about the medieval versification. The second chapter deals with the sources of inspiration for the “Foebus abierat”, with particular emphasis on the works by Ovid. Comparing parallel texts, the author tries to show basic features of the poetics of the anonymous work. The last chapter summarizes earlier considerations and attempts to place the “Foebus abierat” in the wider context of coeval lyric.
