The text analyzes the emotional aspects of postwar reality in Poland, focusing on hope as a key element of the communist emotional regime. Socialist realism takes center stage in the discussion, functioning not merely as a literary style but as a cultural strategy that regulates social emotions. The author examines how socialist realism shaped specific social attitudes and emotions, while simultaneously becoming an archive of postwar hopes. Moreover, the text reveals the mechanisms of emotional control in which hope was no spontaneous reaction but a planned strategy for legitimizing power.
