Social attitudes towards the Police in Poland in 2002-2022 - their determinants and manifestations

Niniejsza praca przedstawia postawy społeczne Polaków wobec Policji. Zakres badań obejmuje lata 2002-2022. W opracowaniu zdefiniowano pojęcie postaw i wskazano na najważniejsze czynniki, które je kształtują. Analizie poddane zostały wyniki badań CBOS dotyczące zaufania do Policji oraz oceny jej działalności w Polsce. Jako przykłady zdarzeń mogących wpływać na postawy wobec Policji wskazano wydarzenia związane z pandemią COVID-19 oraz demonstracjami Strajku Kobiet. Instytucja dzielnicowego i Krajowa Mapa Zagrożeń Bezpieczeństwa opisane zostały jako narzędzie mające wpłynąć na poprawę stosunków Policji ze społeczeństwem.

This master’s thesis presents the social attitudes of Poles towards the Police. The scope of research covers the years 2002-2022. The study defines the concept of attitudes and indicates the most important factors that shape them. The results of CBOS surveys concerning trust in the Police and the assessment of their activities in Poland were analyzed. The events related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the demonstrations of the Strajk Kobiet were indicated as examples of events that may affect attitudes towards the Police. The community policeman institution and the Krajowa Mapa Zagrożeń Bezpieczeństwa have been described as a tool to improve the relations between the Police and the society.
