Tibetan culture embodies rich cultural connotations in both material and spiritual aspects. Thus, in Tibetan culture, wedding ceremonies play a significant role, in carrying on both material characteristics and religious aspects. This thesis mainly focuses on describing the traditional wedding process in Amdo, and comparing wedding ceremonies in agricultural areas and pastoral areas to emphasize the initial form of Tibetan marriage and the deeply influenced religious concepts. Furthermore, this thesis, through examining the traditional wedding process from making proposals to concluding weddings, distinctively reflects the situation of inconspicuous gender role equality in Tibetan society.pl
