Visions of the afterlife in selected teachings of tibetan buddhism and catholic interpretation of the Holy Bible. Similarities and differences.

W pracy zostało podjęte zagadnienie dotyczące sposobu, w jaki rozumiane są życie, śmierć oraz stany pośmiertne w buddyzmie tybetańskim oraz katolicyzmie. Buddyjskie wizje pośmiertne dotyczą sześciu sfer istnienia buddyzmu tybetańskiego, część katolicka odnosi się do wizji nieba, piekła oraz czyśćca. W pracy zawarty został również opis bardo, dokonane zostało również przybliżenie idei oraz roli katolickich sądów – szczegółowego oraz ostatecznego. Celem pracy jest przybliżenie poglądów obydwu wymienionych systemów religijnych na temat rzeczy ostatecznych oraz wyciągnięcie wniosków na temat podobieństw i różnic występujących w podejściu do nich.

This thesis has been written to show the ways of understanding life, death and the visions of the afterlife in Tibetan Buddhism and Catholicism. Buddhist visions of the afterlife concern the six realms of existence and rebirth of the Tibetan Buddhism, the Catholic part refers to the visions of heaven, hell and purgatory. This thesis also includes a description of the bardo, and the idea nad role of the Catholic particular judgment and the Last Judgment. The aim of this thesis is to identify the beliefs of these two religions on the subject of the life that awaits after death, and to draw conclusions about similarities and differences in understanding of the mentioned issue.
