Niniejsza praca dyplomowa, podejmuje problematykę funkcjonowania, sposobu działania i powoływania straży miejskich w Polsce. W początkowych podrozdziałach opisane zostały historyczne losy tej służby mundurowej, kształtowanie się jej i rozwój na przestrzeni wieków. W kolejnych podrozdziałach ukazana jest cała procedura powstawania straży, opisane są uprawnienia i obowiązki strażników, a także wymagania jakie kandydat na strażnika musi spełnić, aby móc zostać strażnikiem. Poruszone zostały zagadnienia dotyczące wyposażenia, umundurowania, a także kwestii zatrudnienia. Ponadto, niniejsza praca dyplomowa opisuje pozycję jaką zajmuje straż miejska i jej zależność od innych organów.

This diploma thesis deals with the issues of functioning and appointment of municipal guards in Poland. The initial subsections describe the historical fate of this uniformed service, its formation and development over the centuries. In the following subsections, the entire procedure of creating a guard is presented, the rights and duties of guards are described, as well as the requirements that a candidate for a guard must meet in order to become a guard. Issues related to equipment, uniforms and employment were discussed. Moreover, this diploma thesis describes the position of the municipal guard and its dependence on other authorities.
