"Angels of death" in the American trial

Personel medyczny, który jest głównym bohaterem niniejszej pracy miał być dla wszystkich przedstawionych ofiar ostoją bezpieczeństwa oraz zapewnić im opiekę podczas pobytu w szpitalu. Stało się jednak inaczej, gdyż osoby te mordowały swoich podopiecznych z zimną krwią, stosując do tego przeróżne substancje oraz metody. Przez wiele miesięcy, a nawet lat osoby te pozostawały w cieniu, zanim ich mroczna osobowość ujrzała światło dzienne. Jak się okazuje dość problematyczną kwestią jest udowodnienie morderstw medycznych. Jednak w przypadku omówionych przeze mnie sylwetek „Aniołów śmierci” sprawiedliwości stało się za dość – resztę swojego życia spędzą w zamknięciu. Celem niniejszej pracy było przybliżenie tematyki toksykologii oraz pojęć z nią związanych i istotnych w kontekście rozważań zawartych w pracy. Między innymi zostały poruszone kwestie dotyczące pojęcia trucizny, dawki śmiertelnej, interakcji toksykologicznych oraz ekspertyzy toksykologicznej. Wszystko to zostało ukierunkowane na zabójstwa dokonane przez tzw. „Aniołów śmierci”, czyli personel medyczny. Dodatkowo omówiono system prawny obowiązujący w Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki, gdyż przybliżone przeze mnie portrety występowały głównie w tym państwie. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na występującą w USA klasyfikację przestępstw oraz znamiona przestępstwa. Przedstawiając portrety pielęgniarzy omówione zostały również dwa nierozerwalne z nimi związane pojęcia z zakresu kryminalistyki, a mianowicie – seryjny morderca oraz „modus operandi”.

The medical staff, who are the main protagonist of this work, were supposed to be a refuge of safety for all the depicted victims and provide them with care during their stay in the hospital. However, it happened otherwise, as these individuals murdered their charges in cold blood, using a variety of substances and methods. For months or even years these individuals remained in the shadows before their dark personalities came to light. As it turns out, it is quite problematic to prove medical murders. However, in the case of the silhouettes of the "Angels of Death" I have discussed, justice has been done enough - they will spend the rest of their lives in confinement. The purpose of this work was to introduce the subject of toxicology and the concepts related to it and relevant to the considerations in the work. Among other things, issues concerning the concept of poison, lethal dose, toxicological interactions and toxicological expertise were addressed. All of this was directed at homicides carried out by so-called "Angels of Death," i.e. medical personnel. In addition, the legal system in force in the United States of America was discussed, as the portrayals I approximated occurred mainly in this country. Special attention was paid to the classification of crimes occurring in the United States and the elements of the crime. In presenting the portraits of the nurses, two inextricably linked forensic concepts were also discussed, namely - serial killer and "modus operandi."
