The memory of Agnieszka Osiecka in contemporary culture

Praca dotyczyć będzie pamięci o popularnej, polskiej poetce Agnieszce Osieckiej, której fenomen, zarówno literacki jak i personalny jest wciąż obecny w kulturze, mimo upływu dwudziestu trzech lat od śmierci twórczyni. Celem pracy jest omówienie zagadnień związanych z pamięcią o artyście. W szczególności analizie poddane zostały pojęcia jak pamięć instytucjonalna, pamięć archiwalna, pamięć mentalna i prywatna w odniesieniu do zarządzania pamięcią o Agnieszce Osieckiej. Dopełnienie stanowią przeprowadzone wywiady z najmłodszymi twórcami, którzy wykorzystali dorobek artystki w swoich projektach. Ważnym odniesieniem jest również pochylenie się nad terminem autora jako marki oraz wyodrębnieniem i przytoczeniem przykładów skrzydlatych słów w kontekście twórczości poetki. Podstawowe pytanie, jakie przyświeca podjętym tu rozważaniom, odnosi się do tego w jaki sposób dziś zarządza się pamięcią o poetce, oraz w jaki sposób pamięć prywatna i pamięć instytucjonalna wpływa na nieustanne pamiętanie o Agnieszce Osieckiej.

The study focuses on the memory of the popular Polish poet, Agnieszka Osiecka, whose phenomenon both literary and personal is still present and alive in culture, despite the fact that twenty-three years have passed since her death. The aim of this work is to discuss topics related to the memory of the artist. In particular, the concepts of institutional memory, archival memory, mental and private memory are analysed in relation to the management of the memory of Agnieszka Osiecka. The thesis is supported with the interviews conducted with the youngest artists who have used Osiecka’s work in their projects. In addition to that, the idea of an ‘author as a brand’ is pointed out and distinguishing and quoting examples of famous ‘winged words' in the context of the poet's work are presented. The primary question guiding the reflection herein refers to how the memory of the poet is being managed today and how both private and institutional memory influence the constant remembering of Agnieszka Osiecka.
