W artykule przedstawiono badania dotyczące okoliczności powstania oraz etapy rozwoju Teatru Telewizji w Polsce, a także analizę stopnia realizacji pojęcia misyjności państwowej telewizji, względem medialnej ekspozycji kultury wysokiej. Dla celów niniejszej pracy przyjęto, że termin „Teatr Telewizji” rozumiany jest wyłącznie jako instytucja z obszaru działalności Telewizji Polskiej. Prezentowany artykuł jest próbą usystematyzowania wiedzy z zakresu Teatru Telewizji oraz wyszczególnienia najważniejszych momentów w jego historii.

This article explores the circumstances of inception and the stages of development Television Theatre's in Poland. Also the author analyses the assignment of presenting high culture in national media. For the purposes of this article, the term "Television Theatre" will be taken to mean the unique product of polish culture, which is the part of national media in Poland. This paper is the attempt to systematize knowledge and underline the most important moments in Television Theatre's history.
