Multitude and art. Relational aesthetic and problems of cognitive capitalism

Celem pracy będzie przeprowadzenie teoretycznej charakterystyki kapitalizmu kognitywnego w oparciu o kluczowy dla współczesnej filozofii spór miedzy Giorgio Agambenem a Antonio Negrim dotyczący koncepcji biopolityki czy szerzej koncepcji podmiotowości. Choć obie postacie wyznaczają w powierzchownej lekturze dwa skrajnie bieguny tej dyskusji, to jedną z tez tej pracy będzie pokazanie daleko idącej zbieżności stanowisk obu autorów. Tym samym wychodząc od twierdzenia o niemożliwości przeprowadzenia jakiejkolwiek zasadniczej zmiany współczesnego kapitalizmu którego autorem byłby Agambena, pokażę jak z tą sytuacją można sobie poradzić jeszcze na gruncie filozofii włoskiego teoretyka, oraz jaką odpowiedź na nią będzie miał sam Negri. Przeprowadzona w ten sposób analiza współczesnego kapitalizmu połączona z tezą o daleko idącej zbieżności jaka zachodzi miedzy ekonomią a sztuką zostanie w drugiej kolejności zastosowana do współczesnych teorii artystycznych dotyczących historycznej awangardy, neoawangardy oraz przede wszystkim estetyki relacyjnej. Konsekwencją tezy o korelacji miedzy sposobami produkcji a twórczością artystyczną będzie twierdzenie o szczególnej roli jaką mają dziś do odegrania operaism i estetyka relacyjna. Tak bowiem jak operaism chce być wypowiedzeniem „tajemnicy” stosunków ekonomicznych jakie zachodziły od wieków, ale które ze względu na dominacje przemysłowej produkcji nigdy nie zostały mocno wyartykułowane, tak estetyka relacyjna chce być wypowiedzeniem „tajemnicy” stosunków artystycznych, które nie zostały nigdy mocno wyartykułowane ze względu na dominacje sztuki „kontemplatywnej”.

The main goal of this dissertation is to proceed with theoretical characteristics of the cognitive capitalism, basing on the key debate in contemporary philosophy between Giorgio Agamben and Antonio Negri, concerning the concept of biopolitics or in general - concept of subjectivity. Although, when reading superficially, they stand on the opposite sites of this discussion, one of the goal of this dissertation is to show how similar they really are in their views. At the same time, going from the statement about the impossibility of proceeding with any fundamental change in contemporary capitalism, as it was said by Agamben, I will demonstrate how we can deal with situation using philosophy of Italian thinker, and then how would Negri’s response look like.Analysis of the contemporary capitalism, carried out in this manner and connected with the thesis on the coincidence occurred between economy and art, will then be applied to the contemporary theories of art such as historical avantgrade, neoavantgarde and especially relational aesthetics. The consequence of the thesis on the correlation between the ways of production and artistic creativity, will be the statement that nowadays relational aesthetics and operaism play crucial role. As operaism wants to be the declaration of the “secret” of economic relations, that has occurred for ages. The economic relations never to be properly articulated because of the domination of industrial production. And so the relational aesthetics wants to be the declaration of the “secret” of artistic relations, never to be articulated because of the domination of the contemplative art.
