Research of memory of the Holocaust survivors. Writers Roma Ligocka and Halina Birenbaum are writing in their books - in sequence - "The girl in the red coat" and "Hope is the last to die" after years their experiences with staying in the ghetto and the camps. This research is an attempt to compare their memories and the postwar fate, and attempt to answer for the question: why Ligocka chose Germany, and Halina Israel to live after Holocaust?
