Neutrality as co-responsibility? The humanitarian doctrine in Christian Amanpour's television foreign correspondence

Praca ma na celu scharakteryzowanie dziennikarstwa uprawianego przez Christiane Amanpour w kontekście modeli i typów dziennikarstwa, które zostały do tej pory opisane. Charakterystyka modeli dziennikarstwa oraz opis amerykańskiego systemu medialnego w kontekście historycznym. Poprzez analizę działalności medialnej dziennikarki wyodrębniony został nowy model dziennikarstwa nazwany dziennikarstwem humanitarnym. Praca bada problem obiektywizmu w mediach, zaangażowanie dziennikarza w światowe konflikty oraz kwestię wolności mediów.

The aim of the following thesis is to characterise the journalism as performed by Christian Amanpour in the context of models and types of journalism that have been described so far. There is the characteristic of models of journalism as well as American media system. Through a thorough analysis of Amanpour's activity in media, a new model of journalism have been defined. It is called the humanitarian journalism. The paper examines the problem of the objectivism in media, the commitment of journalists in the conflicts in the world as well as the issue of freedom in media.
