Praca ma za zadanie udowodnić, że powieść "Koralina" Neila Gaimana należy do gatunku horroru. Skupiam się w niej na analizie elementów miejsca akcji, które w przypadku tego gatunku uważam za kluczowe. W pierwszym rozdziale, prezentuje argumenty przeciwko dwóm gatunkom - magicznemu realizmowi i baśni, gdyż są to gatunki do których "Koralina" jest najczęściej przypisywana. Drugi rozdział zawiera szczegółową analizę elementów przestrzeni, które odnoszę analogicznie do charakterystyki gatunku horroru.
The thesis presents Neil Gaiman's novel - "Coraline", as a part of horror genre. In order to do that, I analyze the elements of the setting, which I consider the most important while discussing this particular genre. In the first chapter of my thesis, I present arguments against the two most popular genres that "Coraline" is classified as - magical realism and fairy tale. The second chapter presents a thourough analysis of the elements of space found in the novel and ascribes them to horror story.
