The main challenges for the security of India in the 21st century, in the context of relations with the United States and the People’s Republic of China

Niniejsza praca dotyczy głównych wyzwań dla bezpieczeństwa, z którymi mierzą się Indie w XXI wieku, a także ich relacji z Chińską Republiką Ludową i Stanami Zjednoczonymi. Celem badawczym jest próba określenia roli i pozycji Indii na arenie międzynarodowej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem obszaru Oceanu Indyjskiego i Azji Południowej. W pracy przedstawione są trzy aspekty: polityczno-społeczny, gospodarczy i wojskowy. Oprócz charakterystyki głównych zagrożeń, w treści znajduje się również analiza relacji pomiędzy Indiami a Chinami oraz Indiami a Stanami Zjednoczonymi. Dodatkowo, pod koniec wywodu zostały przedstawione m.in prognozy na przyszłe stosunki między tymi państwami.

The thesis deals with a topic of the main security challenges that India faces in the 21st century, as well as their relations with the People’s Republic of China and the United States. The main goal is to determinate the role and position of India in the international arena, with particular emphasis on the area of the Indian Ocean and South Asia. The thesis presents three aspects: political and social, economic and military. In addition to the characteristics of the main threats, the content also includes an analysis of the Sino-Indian and India-U.S. relations. The thesis ends with a forecasts for future relations between these countries.
