Relations between the Republic of Belarus and the United States of America in the years 1991 – 2017

Praca dyplomowa opisuje kontekst polityczny, historyczny i okoliczności nawiązywania stosunków Republiki Białoruś ze Stanami Zjednoczonymi Ameryki w latach 1991 - 2017. Na początku przedstawiona jest historia pojawienia się Białorusinów i Białorusi: opisane różne teorie i koncepcje. Następnie przedstawione historyczne uwarunkowania i próby uzyskania niepodległości przez Białoruś. Dalszą analizą objęto całkowite odzyskanie niepodległości przez państwo białoruskie po upadku ZSRR oraz powstanie Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych, a także dołączenie Białorusi do najważniejszych organizacji międzynarodowych. Oddzielnie zilustrowano zagadnienie o nawiązywaniu stosunków Republiki Białoruś ze Stanami Zjednoczonymi i NATO. Przedstawiono wpływ, jaki mają USA na Białoruś od czasu wyboru Aleksandra Łukaszenki. Następnie przeanalizowane i porównane polityki Busha i Obamy wobec Białorusi. Ostatnim elementem pracy jest analiza aktualnych stosunków Republiki Białoruś ze Stanami Zjednoczonymi i NATO.

The diploma thesis describes the political and historical context and circumstances of establishing relations between the Republic of Belarus and the United States of America in the years 1991 - 2017. At the beginning, the history of the appearance of Belarusians and Belarus is presented: various theories and concepts are described. Then presented the historical conditions and attempts to gain independence by Belarus. Further analysis included the complete regaining of independence by the Belarusian state after the collapse of the USSR and the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the inclusion of Belarus in the most important international organizations. Separately, the issue of establishing relations between the Republic of Belarus with the United States and NATO was illustrated. The influence of the USA on Belarus since the election of Alexander Lukashenko was presented. Then analyzed and compared the policies of Bush and Obama towards Belarus. The last element of the work is the analysis of current relations between the Republic of Belarus and the United States and NATO.
