The role of intellectual capital for regional competitiveness growth on the example of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship

Kapitał intelektualny regionu to nieobserwowalne bezpośrednio aktywa obejmujące swoim zakresem grupę kapitałów materialnych i niematerialnych. Jego definicja jest często umowna i zależna od wybranego punktu odniesienia. W literaturze dotyczącej rozwoju regionalnego i konkurencyjności regionu zauważono, że ten typ kapitału może pozytywnie wpływać na rozwój regionalny. W strategiach rozwojowych opracowywanych dla kraju i jego podregionów zaczęto poświęcać sporą uwagę tym dziedzinom gospodarki, które swoim zakresem obejmują obszary składające się wspólnie na kapitał intelektualny. Celem tej pracy jest zbadanie zależności między poziomem kapitału intelektualnego a poziomem konkurencyjności regionu w regionie podkarpackim, a w szczególności w jego podregionach.

The intellectual capital of a region comprises intangible assets that are not directly observable, encompassing a group of tangible and intangible capitals. Its definition is often conventional and dependent on the chosen reference point. Literature on regional development and regional competitiveness has noted that this type of capital can positively influence regional development. In development strategies formulated for the country and its subregions, considerable attention has begun to be paid to those areas of the economy that encompass domains collectively constituting the intellectual capital. The aim of this thesis is to examine the relationship between the level of intellectual capital and the level of regional competitiveness in the Subcarpathian region, particularly in its subregions.
