Information preferences of young libraries users

W pracy przedstawiono preferencje, upodobania młodych użytkowników bibliotek. Omówiono zagadnienia teoretyczne dotyczące potrzeb informacyjnych w ogólnym aspekcie. Przedstawiono charakterystykę pokolenia Google, jego preferencje, upodobania związane z pozyskiwaniem informacji. Omówiono zadania bibliotek w kwestii rozwijania kompetencji informacyjnych młodych użytkowników, sposoby, metody rozwijania kompetencji informacyjnych przez pracowników bibliotek. Zostały omówione relacje, jakie zachodzą między biblioteką a jej użytkownikami, a także to, jaki wpływ na funkcjonowanie, rozwój biblioteki ma jej użytkownik. Ważnym aspektem pracy bibliotek jest stosowanie narzędzi Web 2.0. Przedstawiono cechy charakterystyczne i narzędzia tworzące Libary 2.0. Dokonano badania dwóch grup użytkowników bibliotek. Próbę reprezentatywną stanowiło 20 osób studiujących kierunki humanistyczne i 20 studentów nauk ścisłych. Na podstawie wyników badań dokonano analizy potrzeb, preferencji informacyjnych studentów i różnic pomiędzy tymi dwoma grupami. Wyniki przedstawiono w formie tabelarycznej wraz z interpretacją.

The paper presents preferences and tastes of young library users. In the general aspect discusses the theoretical issues relating to the information needs. Presents the characteristics of the Google generation and his preferences connected with obtaining information. Focuses on the aims of the libraries in terms of the development of information literacy of young users, ways, methods for developing information literacy by library staff. Presents relationships, which exist between the library and its users and the impact of the user on the functioning and the development of the library. An important aspect of library activity is the use of Web 2.0 tools. This paper presents the characteristics and tools forming Libary 2.0. There are discussed studies of two groups of library users. The representative sample is 20 people studying the humanities and 20 science students. Based on results of the research, there was made an analysis of the needs, information preferences of students and differences between the two groups. The results are presented in tabular form, together with the interpretation.
