Moja praca magisterska dotyczy tematu literaryzacji ciała w książce Sophie von La Roche pt. „Die Geschichte des Fräuleins von Sternheim”. W wprowadzeniu opisuję zagadnienia związane z powieścią, w tym charakterystykę postaci pod kątem ich wyglądu, serce jako retoryczne narzędzie cielesności oraz teatralizację na dworze. Wprowadzenie podkreśla także znaczenie okresu, w którym powstała powieść, aby zaznaczyć, że dzieło samo w sobie zostało napisane zgodnie z określonymi konwencjami. Drugi rozdział służy jako część analityczna, w której opisuję wszystkie terminy, na które się powołuję w swojej pracy. Najbardziej szczegółowo opisanym terminem jest teatralizacja, ponieważ pojawia się ona wielokrotnie w mojej pracy. W tej części odwołuję się także do literatury sekundarnej, która ma na celu wsparcie mojej analizy. Badam fragmenty, by móc odpowiedzieć na następujące pytania: W jaki sposób przedstawiono wygląd postaci w „Die Geschichte der Fräuleins von Sternheim” i co to oznacza w odniesieniu do ciała i wyglądu w społeczeństwie? Jak przedstawienie ciała wpływa na moralne i społeczne osądy postaci w dworze? Jaką rolę odgrywa ciało jako symbol indywidualnej wolności lub społecznego ucisku w dziele La Roche?Na koniec powracam do charakterystyki widzialnego jako najbardziej oczywistego aspektu cielesności opisywanej w dziele, podkreślając rolę wyglądu oraz komunikacji niewerbalnej, serca, jako retorycznego narzędzia cielesności, które odnosi się do roli cnoty, oraz opisuję teatralizację wzorców zachowań na dworze podczas kiedy wyciągam wnioski i odpowiadam na zadane pytania.

My master’s thesis concerns the topic of literarization of the body in Sophie von La Roche’s book Die Geschichte des Fräuleins von Sternheim. In the introduction, I describe issues related to the novel, including character portraits in terms of their appearance, the heart as a rhetorical tool of corporeality, and the theatricalization at the court. The introduction also emphasizes the significance of the period in which the novel was written, noting that the work itself was produced according to certain conventions. The second chapter serves as an analytical part, in which I describe all the terms I rely on in my thesis. The most thoroughly described term is theatricalization, because it recurs repeatedly in my work. The subsequent parts of the thesis analyze La Roche’s work using selected passages of the text. The work itself is also summarized to acquaint the reader with the plot. In this part I also refer to secondary literature, which aims to support my analysis. I examine the passages in order to answer the following questions: How is the appearance of the characters presented in Die Geschichte der Fräuleins von Sternheim, and what does this mean with respect to the body and appearance in society? How does the representation of the body influence the moral and social judgments of the characters at the court? What role does the body play as a symbol of individual freedom or social oppression in La Roche’s work? In the end, I return to the characterization of the visible as the most obvious aspect of corporeality described in the work, emphasizing the role of appearance and nonverbal communication, the heart as a rhetorical tool of corporeality that refers to the role of virtue, and I describe the theatricalization of patterns of behavior at the court while drawing conclusions and answering the posed questions.

Meine Masterarbeit befasst sich mit dem Thema der Literarisierung des Körpers im Werk „Die Geschichte des Fräuleins von Sternheim“ von Sophie von La Roche. In der Einleitung beschreibe ich mit dem Roman verbundene Thematik, in dem ich auf die Charakterisierung der Charaktere, in Hinblick auf das Aussehen, eingehe, das Herz als Rhetorisches Mittel der Körperlichkeit und zuletzt die Theatralisierung am Hofe. Die Einleitung betont auch die Wichtigkeit der Zeit, in der der Roman entstand, um zu betonen, dass das Werk selbst in einer bestimmten Konvention geschrieben wurde.Der zweite Abschnitt dient als analytischer Teil, in dem alle Termini, auf die ich mich in meiner Arbeit beziehe, beschrieben werden. Der Termin, der am deutlichsten beschrieben wird, ist die Theatralisierung, weil diese in meiner Arbeit mehrmals vorkommt.Die weitern Abschnitte dieser Arbeit analysieren das Werk von La Roche mit Hilfe von ausgewählten Passagen aus dem Roman. Das Werk selbst wird ebenfalls zusammengefasst, um dem Leser die Geschichte näher zu bringen. In diesem Teil beziehe ich mich auch auf der Sekundärliteratur, die dazu dient, meine Analyse zu unterstützen. Hier analysiere ich das Werk von La Roche, um auf die folgenden Fragen antworten zu können, nämlich: Wie wird die Beschreibung des Aussehens der Figuren in der "Geschichte des Fräuleins von Sternheim" dargestellt und worauf bezieht sich dies in Bezug auf Körper und Erscheinung in der Gesellschaft? Wie beeinflusst die Darstellung des Körpers die moralischen und sozialen Urteile der Charaktere innerhalb des Hofes? Welche Rolle spielt der Körper als Symbol für individuelle Freiheit oder die gesellschaftliche Unterdrückung in La Roches Werk?Zuletzt gehe ich wieder auf die Charakterisierung des Sichtbaren als den offensichtlichsten Aspekt der im Werk beschriebenen Körperlichkeit zurück und betone die Rolle des Aussehens und somit die Rolle der nonverbalen Kommunikation, des Herzens, als rhetorisches Mittel der Körperlichkeit, das sich mit der Rolle der Tugend befasst und beschreibe die Theatralisierung der Verhaltensmuster am Hofe, indem ich Schlussfolgerungen ziehe und auf die gestellten Fragen antworte.
