Assessment of the effectiveness of organizational changes based on the analysis of emergency medical team response time in the Czernichów borough

Wstęp: System ratownictwa medycznego odgrywa kluczową rolę w zapewnieniu szybkiej i skutecznej pomocy medycznej w sytuacjach zagrożenia życia. Czas dojazdu zespołów ratownictwa medycznego (ZRM) jest jednym z najważniejszych czynników wpływających na skuteczność interwencji.Cel pracy: Celem pracy była ocena skuteczności zmian organizacyjnych w Krakowskim Pogotowiu Ratunkowym, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wpływu tych zmian na czas dojazdu ZRM w gminie Czernichów.Materiał i metoda: Badanie oparto na analizie retrospektywnej danych dotyczących czasu dojazdu ZRM, liczby wyjazdów oraz skuteczności interwencji w przypadkach nagłego zatrzymania krążenia (NZK) przed i po wprowadzeniu nowych miejsc stacjonowania karetek.Wyniki: Wyniki pokazały, że średni czas dojazdu ZRM uległ znacznemu skróceniu po wprowadzeniu zmian organizacyjnych. Liczba wyjazdów do NZK wzrosła, ale skuteczność resuscytacji (ROSC) pozostała na stabilnym poziomie.Wnioski: Zmiany organizacyjne w systemie ratownictwa medycznego, w tym nowe miejsce stacjonowania karetek, przyczyniły się do poprawy czasu reakcji ZRM, co może zwiększyć skuteczność interwencji ratunkowych w przyszłości.

Introduction: The emergency medical services system plays a crucial role in providing timely and effective medical assistance in life-threatening situations. The response time of emergency medical teams is one of the most critical factors influencing the success of these interventions.Aim of the research: The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of organizational changes within the Krakow Ambulance Service, focusing specifically on the impact these changes had on the response times of emergency medical teams in the Czernichów borough.Materials and Methods: The study was conducted through a retrospective analysis of data on the response times of emergency medical teams, the number of dispatches, and the effectiveness of interventions in cases of sudden cardiac arrest before and after the implementation of new ambulance station locations.Results: The findings revealed that the average response time of emergency medical teams significantly decreased following the organizational changes. Additionally, while the number of dispatches for sudden cardiac arrest increased, the success rate of resuscitation efforts remained consistent.Conclusions: The organizational changes in the emergency medical services system, including the establishment of new ambulance stations, have contributed to improving the response times of emergency medical teams, which may enhance the effectiveness of emergency interventions in the future.
