Humour and Irony in Spanish Contemporary Parliamentary Discourse

W niniejszej pracy bada się humor oraz ironię w dyskursie parlamentarnym Sesji Plenarnych Kongresu Deputowanych podczas XII kadencji hiszpańskiego Parlamentu. Celem pracy jest, w głównej mierze, analiza fragmentów przemówień, które wzbudziły śmiech hiszpańskich polityków podczas wspomnianych posiedzeń, a także charakterystyka procesów, które miały wpływ na tę reakcję. Stąd to stosuje się trzy teorie humoru: teorię niespójności, wyższości i teorię wyzwolenia energii. Jedna część pracy jest poświęcona badaniu ironii oraz relacji humor-ironia. Dodatkowo, określa się funkcje jakie spełnia humor w przemówieniach wygłoszonych podczas posiedzeń plenarnych. Na koniec, wymienia się cechy języka polityki we współczesnym dyskursie parlamentarnym w Hiszpanii.

This thesis investigates the humour and irony in the discourse of the Plenary Sessions at the Congress of Deputies during the 12th term in office of the Spanish Parliament. It examines fragments of parliamentary speeches that provoked laughter in politicians. The main aim of the research is to investigate the reasons of this laughter and describe the mechanisms that regulate this reaction, using three theories of humour: incongruity theory, superiority theory and release theory. There is also one part of this study dedicated to irony and its proximity to humour. Furthermore, the thesis determines the functions of the humour in parliamentary discourse. Lastly, it specifies the characteristics of Spanish contemporary political language.

En el presente trabajo se investigan los recursos del humor y la ironía en el discurso de las Sesiones Plenarias del Congreso de los Diputados de la XII Legislatura. Se analizan fragmentos de intervenciones que suscitaron risas de los políticos en dichos encuentros. A lo largo de la investigación se intenta averiguar el porqué de las risas de los receptores y caracterizar los mecanismos que regulan dicha reacción, siendo este el objetivo principal. Para ello, se aplican tres teorías del humor: la de incongruencia, superioridad y descarga. También se dedica una parte del estudio a la ironía y su proximidad con el recurso del humor. Además, se pretende definir las funciones que desempeña el humor en el discurso de los Plenos. Por último, se especifican los rasgos del lenguaje político español de la actualidad.
