"Koncenctracja sektora bankowego w Polsce na tle państw Unii Europejskiej"
The concentration of banking sector in Poland compared to the concentration in countries of the European Union

W pracy zbadano wpływ koncentracji i struktury rynku na wyniki przedsiębiorstw. Skupiono sie na sektorze bankowym UE. Użyto takich metod/wskaźników jak: indeks HHI, wskaźnik Giniego, wkaźnik koncentracji, statystyka H, model SCP, aproksymacja Pade’a, regresja liniowa. Wykazano rosnącą zależność pomiędzy badanymi wielkościami. Pokazano też, że krajom biedniejszym odpowiadają większe wskaźniki koncentracji oraz że dominującą formą konkurencji w krajach UE w 2010r. była konkurencja monopolistyczna.
In this thesis I investigated the influence of concentration and market structure on firms’ profits. I focused on banking sector of the countries of EU. I used such methods/indices as: HHI, Gini index, concentration ratio, H statistic, SCP model , Pade aproximation, linear regression. I indicated the positive relation between analyzed variables. I showed also that the developing countries have greater concentration indices than the richer countries and that the most popular form of market structure in EU in 2010 was the monopolistic competition.
