Albert, duke of Strzelce Opolskie (1299-1370/71)

Niniejsza praca dotyczy biografii władcy strzeleckiego Alberta. Ramy chronologiczne pracy zamykają się w przedziale od 1299 do 1370/71 roku, czyli całość życia księcia Alberta. W pierwszym rozdziale omówiłem podstawowe informacje dotyczące genealogii, jak również kwestie datacji narodzin i śmierci. W drugim rozdziale poświęciłem uwagę polityce zagranicznej Alberta, jego kontaktom z Królestwami Czech, Polski, Węgier, Cesarstwem oraz Papiestwem, jak również z sąsiednimi księstwami śląskimi. W rozdziale skupiłem się się na rządach Alberta w księstwie strzeleckim, oraz fundacji klasztoru cystersów w Jemielnicy. Ostatni rozdział poświęcony jest rekonstrukcji otoczenia dworskiego oraz struktury urzędniczej obowiązującej w księstwie strzeleckim.

This paper concerns a biography of a Strzelce Opolskie ruler. It focuses on the period of the years between 1299 and 1370/71, which comprises the entire lifespan of Duke Albert. The first chapter contains some basic information concerning the genealogy as well as the issues of dating births and deaths. The second chapter elaborates on Duke Albert’s foreign policy , including such issues as his contacts with the kingdoms of Bohemia, Poland, Hungary, the German Empire , the Pope and the neighbouring Silesian duchies. The third chapter focuses upon Albert’s rule in the Strzelce Opolskie Duchy and the foundation of the Cistercian monastery in Jemielnica. The final chapter is dedicated to the reconstruction of the retinue and the administration system in the Strzelce Opolskie Duchy.
