Belfry towers in western Little Poland.

Celem tego tekstu jest próba analizy architektoniczno-funkcjonalnej wież typu – Bergfried w założeniach obronnych na obszarze zachodniej Małopolski. Autor niniejszej pracy rozważa, również na temat różnic architektoniczno-funkcjonalnych, pomiędzy tego typu wieżami, a innymi typami wież. Ponadto dowodzi on, że pojawienie się tych wież w zachodniej Małopolsce było związane z rządami Wacława II. Wskazuje on na bliskie analogię wież z terenu Czech i Śląska. Zwraca on uwagę na rozwój wież typu Bergfried w zachodniej Małopolsce – od wież cylindrycznych do wież poligonalnych. Podejmuje on próbę wyjaśnienia przyczyn zaniku tego typu wież. Autor wskazuje również, że Bergfriedy występowały w zamkach bergfriedowych oraz w zamkach zabudową dookolną.

The aim of this text is an attempt to analyze the architectural and functional type towers - Bergfried in assumptions defense in western Lesser Poland. The author of this paper considers also on the architectural and functional differences between these types of towers, and other types of towers. In addition, he argues that the emergence of these towers in western Little Poland was associated with the rule of Wenceslas II. He points to the close analogy of the towers from the area of Bohemia and Silesia. He draws attention to the development of type belfry towers in western Little Poland - from cylindrical towers to polygonal towers. It attempts to clarify the reasons for the disappearance this type of towers. The author also indicates that belfries occurred in castle with belfry and castles buildings omnidirectional.
