Caucasian motives in the works of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov

Praca poświęcona jest życiu prywatnemu Michaiła Jurjewicza Lermontowa i jego związkom z Kaukazem. Ukazuję w niej najczęstsze motywy Kaukazu występujące w literaturze rosyjskiej, a przede wszystkim w twórczości M. Lermontowa. Wśród nich przedstawiłam: motyw Kaukazu jako miejsca dzikiego i groźnego, motyw przedstawiający góry jako ucieleśnienie raju dla romantyków, a także motyw kaukaskich kobiet przedstawianych jako źródło miłości i uosobienie piękna.

The work talks about private life of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov and his associations with the Caucasus mountains. In my work I have presented the most common literary themes of the Caucasus in Russian literature and particularly in the works of Mikhail Lermontov. Among them I have listed: theme of the Caucasus seen as a wild and dangerous place, Caucasus seen as a paradise for romantics, and theme in which women are presented as a source of love and the embodiment of beauty.
