Perspective and the importance of organic farming in the background of the Polish economy in the XXI century

Rolnictwo od zawsze było najważniejszym sektorem gospodarki dla człowieka. Rosnąca lawinowo liczba ludności świata i zwiększające się zapotrzebowanie na żywność powoduje, że pod uprawy i na potrzeby hodowli zajęliśmy już 35% lądów. Obecnie rolnictwo stanowi system produkcji żywności na wielką skalę i jest jej głównym powodem ogołocenia ziemi z naturalnej roślinności. Intensyfikacja rolnictwa jest istotną przyczyną degradacji środowiska, dlatego celowym wydaje się rozwój rolnictwa ekologicznego i wprowadzenie nowych technologii. Ważnym aspektem jest też odpowiednie podejście ekonomiczne. Celem pracy jest wskazanie zasad stosowanych w rolnictwie ekologicznym oraz przegląd obowiązujących podstaw prawnych. Praca ma także na celu wykazanie roli Unii Europejskiej w rozwoju gospodarstw ekologicznych w Polsce.

Agriculture has always been the most important sector of the economy to humans. Rapidly growing world population and increasing demand for food means that the cultivation and rearing we took already 35% of land. Currently, agriculture is a system of food production on a large scale and is the main reason for stripping the land of natural vegetation. Intensification of agriculture is a major cause of environmental degradation, so it seems appropriate to the development of organic farming and the introduction of new technologies. An important aspect is also relevant economic approach. Aim of this study is to identify the rules used in organic production and review of the legal basis. The work is also intended to demonstrate the European Union's role in the development of organic farms in Poland.
