Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie roli ognia w zaratusztrianizmie na przykładzie wybranych zagadnień. W pracy omówione zostały kwestie genezy kultu ognia w zaratusztrianizmie, wczesne formy czczenia ognia jak ofiara atasz zohr i liturgia jasny, rodzaje ogni i ich stopnie, proces powstania kultu świątynnego ognia i związane z tym wznoszenie świątyń oraz rozrost klasy kapłańskiej. Praca odnosi się do roli ognia w kosmoligii i kosmogonii zaratusztriańskiej, form obchodzenia się z ogniem - zapobiegania zanieczyszczeniu i oczyszczania ognia. Omówione zostały również pojęcia aszy i chwareny w odniesieniu do ognia, a także funkcję ognia podczas obrzędu czaharom i święta zaratusztriańskiego nowego roku.

This thesis seeks to analyse the role of fire in Zoroastrianism based on selected issues. The research explores various aspects like the origins of cult of fire, early forms of fire veneration ex. atash zohr ritual and Yasna liturgy, types and grades of fire, the process of founding temple cult of fire resulting in erection of fire temples and consequently growing numbers the priestly state assigned to take care of temple fires. The dissertation refers to the role of fire in Zoroastrian cosmology and cosmogony, forms of taking care of the fire – preventing it from pollution and cleansing rituals. This study also includes the relation between fire and concepts of asha and khvarena, the role of the fire in chcharom ritual and celebration of the Zoroastrian New Year.
