Theory and nature. Julian Tuwim's meetings with "the otherness"

Celem pracy jest analiza sposobów konceptualizacji przyrody w literaturze z uwzględnieniem teoretycznoliterackiego wymiaru podejmowanego zagadnienia. Punktem wyjścia do rozważań jest pojęcie przestrzeni heterotopicznej, zaproponowane przez Michaela Foucaulta. Przedmiotem interpretacji są wybrane utwory Juliana Tuwima z lat 1920-1940. Zasadniczą kwestią zarówno w pracy, jak i w omawianych utworach jest problem pochodzenia języka poetyckiego i jego roli jako pośrednika między tożsamością podmiotu i obcością przyrody. W swych analizach autorka odwołuje się przede wszystkim do filozofii Emanuela Levinasa oraz Jacques’a Derridy. Wychodząc od pojęcia "innego" przedstawia możliwości adaptacji przyrody dla literaturoznawstwa z dwóch perspektyw. Po pierwsze, dystansując podmiot od środowiska, skupia się na tym, jak na kartach literatury kształtuje się proces odseparowania podmiotu od naturalności i pierwotności, wyodrębnienia się z niej tożsamości osobnej. Następnie przedstawia specyficzne dla pojmowania przyrody cechy relacji ja – obcy oraz sytuację zderzenia z przyrodą człowieka obrosłego wtórną wobec niego kulturą. Autorka rozważa kwestię re-przyswojenia natury i odnalezienia nietotalizującej formy kontaktu podmiotu ze środowiskiem. W konkluzji pracy zawarto ustalenia nawiązujące do koncepcji posthumanizmu. Autorka wskazuje na szerokie możliwości powiązania twórczości Skamandryty z prezentowanymi perspektywami badawczymi, co doprowadza do stwierdzenia iż poeta pod względem świadomości kulturowej znacznie wyprzedził swoją epokę.

The main goal of this work is to analyze the ways of conceptualizing the nature in the literature using strong theoretical methods. Michael Foucault’s idea of heterotopic space will be the very basis of that. Julian Tuwim’s poems dated 1920-1940 would be the material for practical analyzes. The main point both in the paper and the mentioned poetry is the origin of the poetic language and its role as the intermediary between the identity of a subject and the otherness of nature. The author of this work refers mainly to the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas and Jacques Derrida. Starting with the otherness she presents the range of possible adaptations the nature for literature studies from two points of view. First of all, distancing the subject from the environment, the author focuses on how the literature illustrates the process of separating subject from nature and primordiality and the formation of a separate identity. Secondly, she focuses on nature’s specific relation I – the other and on the nature colliding with the man rooted in the false derivate culture. The author considers the matter of reassimilating with the nature and finding non-totalizing subject’s intercommunication with the nature. The findings concerning posthumanism were included in the summary. The author shows the probable ways of connecting the Tuwim’s poetry with the presented theories which leads to the statement that the poet’s cultural awareness was far ahead of his time.
