Issues of protection of children's rights in Africa

Afryka jest kontynentem, na którym szczególnie często dochodzi do łamania praw dzieci. Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie problematyki ochrony praw dzieci w Afryce, na przykładzie wybranych państw. W rozdziale pierwszym dokonano analizy źródeł ochrony praw dzieci w Afryce, a także przedstawiono definicję dziecka z perspektywy prawa międzynarodowego. Drugi rozdział skupia się wokół problematyki dzieci żołnierzy. Omawia skalę zjawiska i dokumenty, które regulują ową kwestię. Trzeci rozdział dotyczy problemu edukacji, przedstawionego na przykładach konkretnych państw przy pomocy analizy raportów międzynarodowych. Kolejny rozdział dotyczy wyzysku dzieci na rynku pracy, skali omawianego zjawiska oraz jego uwarunkowań. Piąty, ostatni rozdział dotyczy przemocy i nadużyć stosowanych wobec dzieci. Omawia ich formy, nakreśla skalę zjawiska i jego przyczyny przy jednoczesnym ukazaniu problemu w wybranych państwach afrykańskich.

Africa is a continent where children's rights are often broken. The purpose of this paper is to present the issues of the protection of children's rights in Africa, on the example of selected countries. The first chapter analyzes the sources of the protection of children's rights in Africa and provides a definition of the child from the perspective of international law. The second chapter focuses on the issue of soldiers' children. Discusses the scale of the phenomenon and the documents that regulate this issue. The third chapter deals with the problem of education presented in the examples of specific countries by analyzing international reports. The next chapter deals with the exploitation of children in the labor market, the scale of the discussed phenomenon and its determinants. The fifth, last chapter deals with violence and abuse against children. It discusses their forms, outlines the scale of the phenomenon and its causes while showing the problem in selected African countries.
