Parental attitudes towards aggression in preschool children

Celem niniejszej pracy jest wskazanie postaw, jakie prezentują rodzice względem agresji u dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym. Rozważania nad powyższym tematem rozpoczynają się od dokładnego przedstawienia teoretycznych założeń agresji, zarówno w ogólnym znaczeniu, jak i z uwzględnieniem agresji u dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym. Informacje te zawarte są w pierwszym rozdziale niniejszego opracowania, natomiast definicja postaw w ujęciu psychologicznym, opisana jest w kolejnej części, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem postaw rodzicielskich opracowania Marii Ziemskiej. W części trzeciej znajdują się przyjęte założenia metodologiczne. Opisane problemy szczegółowe, sprawdzają składowe części postaw respondentów, względem danego zjawiska. Opracowany w tym kierunku kwestionariusz ankiety, znajdujący się w Aneksie pracy, sprawdza wiedzę, emocje i zachowania badanych. Część metodologiczna jest to również miejsce, w którym przedstawione są wszelkie istotne elementy organizacyjne pracy oraz informacje niezbędne w rzeczowym wyjaśnieniu przyjętych założeń. Czwarty rozdział przedstawia uzyskane wyniki przeprowadzonego sondażu, którego istotnym elementem jest dokonana wstępna ocena i klasyfikacja uzyskanych informacji. Analiza podzielona jest na części dotyczące wiedzy, emocji i zachowań respondentów względem zjawiska agresji u dzieci. Podsumowaniem pracy są wnioski, iż postawy prezentowane przez rodziców są w większości prawidłowe, gdyż opierają się na trosce i akceptacji potrzeb dziecka. Rodzice dostrzegają problem oraz starają się mu przeciwdziałać. Konieczne jest jednak uzupełnienie wiedzy pozwalającej m.in na usprawnienie procesu wychowawczego. Przypadki postaw nadmiernie wymagających czy ignorujących, stanowią zdecydowana mniejszość wśród badanych, jednakże wykazanie ich obecności jest niepokojące. Zakończenie zawiera konkluzje przeprowadzonych analiz oraz perspektywę działań zmierzających do zwiększenia wiedzy rodzicielskiej na temat agresji u dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym oraz wskazuje perspektywę dalszych badań.

The aim of this thesis is to identify the attitudes that parents represent towards aggression in the behavior of preschool children. Discussion about this topic begins with a precise description of the theoretical assumptions of aggression, both in a general sense, as well as specification of aggression in children of preschool age. This information is contained in the first section of this thesis, and the definition of attitudes in psychology, is described in the next part, with particular emphasis on the parental attitudes elaborated by Maria Ziemska.The third part includes methodological assumptions. The detail problems which are described, examine the constituent parts of the attitudes of respondents toward aggression. Developed this direction questionnaire, which is located in the annex of thesis, tests the parental knowledge, emotions and behaviors. Methodological part is also the place where are presented all the relevant organizational points and the information needed to clarify the factual assumptions.The fourth chapter presents the results of the survey, in which, an essential element, is the initial assessment and classification of the data. The analysis is divided into sections of knowledge, emotions, and behavior of the respondents towards the phenomenon of aggression in children.Summary of the work are the conclusions that the attitude displayed by the parents are mostly correct, because they are based on the concern and acceptance of the child's needs. Parents mostly recognize the problem and try to counteract it. However, it is necessary to supplement the knowledge that enables the improvement of the educational process. Cases of over- demanding attitudes or ignorance, are a substantial minority of the respondents, however, their appearance is worrying.The last part includes the general conclusions of the analysis and the prospect of action to increase parental knowledge about aggression in preschool children and indicates the prospect for further research.
