Nathalie Sarraute – a new novel, a new psychology.

W niniejszej pracy będziemy analizować świat psychiki ludzkiej stworzony w powieściach Nathalie Sarraute, niejasny obszar „mikropsychologii” i „antypsychologii” rządzony przez tropizmy i „podrozmowę”. W pierwszej kolejności zbadamy upraszczający charakter języka, który utrudnia ujawnienie „nowej substancji psychologicznej”, a następnie postaramy się zgłębić tropimy, nieuchwytne stany psychiczne, stanowiące podstawę relacji międzyludzkich. W dalszej części przeanalizujemy metody, którymi posługuje się pisarka, by ujawnić niestały charakter kontaktów z innymi. Na koniec naszych rozważań będziemy towarzyszyć pisarce w jej poszukiwaniu autentyczności, zmierzającym do zdemaskowania pozorów autentycznej egzystencji.

In the following thesis we will study the mental universe created by Nathalie Sarraute in her novels, the obscure world of “micro-psychology” and “anti-psychology” governed by tropisms and under-conversation. We will start with an analysis of a reducing character of the language, which makes difficult the revelation of the “new psychological subject matter”, before studying the tropismic movements which are at the basis of human relations. In the following section we will discuss the methods used by the writer in order to prove an unstable nature of our relationships with the others. In the end of our work we will participate in the Sarraute’s quest for the authenticity, intending to destroy our masks, imitation of an authentic existence.

Dans le présent mémoire, nous étudierons l’univers mental créé par Nathalie Sarraute dans son œuvre romanesque, le monde obscur de la « micropsychologie » et de « l’anti-psychologie », régit par les tropismes et la sous-conversation. Dans un premier temps, nous analyserons l’aspect réducteur du langage qui rend difficile la mise au jour de la « matière psychologique nouvelle », avant d’examiner les mouvements tropismiques qui se trouvent au fondement des rapports humains. Nous nous pencherons ensuite sur les méthodes utilisées par l’écrivain pour dénoncer le caractère instable de nos relations avec les autres. À la fin de notre étude, nous accompagnerons l’écrivain dans sa quête de l’authenticité, visant à briser les masques, simulacres de l’existence authentique.
