Politicization of sport in Belarus

Sport i polityka mają wiele cech wspólnych, jednak nie powinny być ze sobą w ścisłym związku. Problem ich wzajemnej relacji jest poruszany przez wielu badaczy, jednak brakuje analizy tego problemu w Białorusi po 1991 roku. Sport bywa wykorzystywany jako narzędzie do kształtowania nastrojów społecznych i politycznych. W niniejszej pracy poddaje się w wątpliwość stosowność budowania wizerunku polityków w oparciu o sukcesy zawodników sportowych i wskazuje się na skalę tego zjawiska w Białorusi na podstawie wypowiedzi polityków z lat 1998–2015.

Sport and politics have much in common, but they should not be together in close association. The problem of the relationship between them is driven by many researchers, but there is no analysis of this issue in Belarus after 1991. Sport is sometimes used as a tool for shaping public sentiment. In this work are subjected to question the appropriateness of building the image of politicians on the basis of success of sportsmen and points to the scale of this phenomenon in Belarus on the basis of statements by politicians in the years 1998-2015.
