„Jam (…) obywatel bezbożnej Sodomy” – on the tension between mournful and frivolous poems by Jan Andrzej Morsztyn

W niniejszej pracy autorka analizuje wątki erotyczno-żałobne w twórczości Jana Andrzeja Morsztyna. W szczególności badane jest napięcie w utworach, w których motywy te dopełniają się wzajemnie. Istotnym aspektem pracy jest również motyw śmierci w dziełach Morsztyna, zarówno w sensie dosłownym, jako rzeczywistej utraty życia, jak i w przenośni, jako metafory śmierci z miłości. Poprzez zrozumienie, w jaki sposób Morsztyn konstruuje swoje utwory, jakie techniki literackie wykorzystuje i jak interpretuje fundamentalne dla ludzkiej egzystencji tematy, praca dąży do ukazania artystycznej i intelektualnej wartości jego twórczości. Omówione zostaje to, jak poezja erotyczna Morsztyna, pełna zmysłowych obrazów i subtelnych aluzji, ukazuje miłość jako siłę nie tylko twórczą, ale i destrukcyjną. Interpretacji zostają poddane także motywy zmartwychwstania i wskrzeszenia, pochodzące z kręgu religijnego, które używane są przez poetę do wyrażenia potęgi i transcendentalnego charakteru miłości. Twórczość Morsztyna jest ukazana jako przykład barokowego łączenia motywów mortualnych, erotycznych i religijnych, co stanowi istotne uzupełnienie bieżącego stanu wiedzy i prowokuje do dalszych badań nad barokową poezją.

In this study, the author analyzes erotic and mournful themes in the works of Jan Andrzej Morsztyn. In particular, the tension in works in which these motifs complement each other is examined. The motif of death in Morsztyn's works, both literally, as the actual loss of life, and figuratively, as a metaphor for death from love, is also an important aspect of the work. By understanding how Morsztyn constructs his works, what literary techniques he uses, and how he interprets themes fundamental to human existence, the work seeks to demonstrate the artistic and intellectual value of his work. It discusses how Morsztyn's erotic poetry, full of sensual images and subtle allusions, portrays love as a force that is not only creative, but also destructive. Also interpreted are the motifs of resurrection and resurrection, derived from religious circles, which are used by the poet to express the power and transcendental nature of love. Morsztyn's work is shown as an example of the Baroque combination of mortal, erotic and religious motifs, which is an important addition to the current state of knowledge and provokes further research into Baroque poetry.
