W poniższej pracy p.t.” Wzmacnianie kompetencji społecznych i obywatelskich młodzieży szkół ponadpodstawowych za pomocą narzędzia debat oksfordzkich na przykładzie projektu Tarnowska Liga Debatancka” , przedmiotem badań są kompetencje społeczne i obywatelskie. Moim celem było zbadanie w jaki sposób przedmiot badań zostaje wzmocniony za pomocą narzędzia debat oksfordzkich. Aby móc tego dokonać jako obszar badań wybrałam projekt Tarnowskiej Ligi Debatanckiej.W pierwszej części pracy dokonuję próby syntezy wiedzy na temat zagadnienia kompetencji z uwzględnieniem pojęcia kompetencji społecznych i obywatelskich. Następnie analizuję zagadnienie samej debaty oksfordzkiej z uwzględnieniem historii na tle światowym i gruncie krajowym. Opisuję również formę, przebieg samej debaty z uwzględnieniem praktyk w różnych środowiskach.Drugi rozdział pracy przedstawia założenie metodologiczne. Do swoich badań wybrałam osoby związane z projektem Tarnowskiej Ligi Debatanckiej reprezentujące różne poziomy doświadczenia: trenerów, obecnych uczestników oraz absolwentów. Przeprowadziłam wywiady indywidualne oraz jeden wywiad fokusowy.Trzeci rozdział to analiza otrzymanych wyników z zastosowaniem interpretacji oraz dosłownych wypowiedzi badanych. Następnie dokonałam syntezy otrzymanych wyników, odpowiadając na postawione przeze mnie pytania badawcze. Czynnikami najsilniej wzmacniającymi badane przeze mnie kompetencje, według badanych, są poszczególne elementy dotyczące samej formy debaty ale również środowisko, które tworzy się wokół projektu wykorzystującego narzędzie.

Presented theses "Enhancement of social an civic competences, of post-primary education students with a tool of oxford debate, through an example of Tarnowska Liga Debatancka project", takes as it's objective the social and civic competences. My main focus was the exploration of how the objective is being enhanced throughout the tool of an oxford debate. As a field of my explorations I chose the Tarnowska Liga Debatancka project.The first chapter of my work is an attempt of synthesis of a knowledge related to an issue of competences with main focus on social an civic competences. Subsequently I anylize an issue of an oxford debate with consideration of it's world and local history. I also present the form, course of the debate itself highliting individual practices of different environments.Second chapter of presented work focuses on methodology. For my researches I chose representatives from the project of Tarnowska Liga Debatancka comming from different levels of experience: trainers, participants, graduates. I carried out individual an focused inteviews.Third chapter of presented work aims to analize recieved results with the use of both interpretation and quotations of the tested persons. Subsequently I attempted making a synthesis of the recieved results, answearing the stated research questions. The factors that seem to influence the examined competences, due to the recipents, are particular aspects of the debate's formula, and the environment that is being created within the project using the tool of the oxford debate.
