Niniejsza praca licencjacka stanowi studium przypadku działalności oddolnego ruchu miejskie-go - Stowarzyszenia Bydgoskie Przedmieście, funkcjonującego w Toruniu w latach 2007-2020. Praca koncentruje się na historii i skutkach działań Stowarzyszenia, które wbrew braku formalnej rejestracji odegrało kluczową rolę w ochronie dziedzictwa architektonicznego oraz w proce-sie rewitalizacji społecznej i kulturowej dzielnicy. Praca zawiera również współczesny opis dzielnicy, uwzględniający jej stan przed rozpoczęciem działalności aktywistycznej. Praca opisuje, w jaki sposób Stowarzyszenie, stając się głosem mieszkańców, skutecznie wykorzystywało media i komunikację społeczną do zmiany negatywnego wizerunku Bydgoskiego Przedmieścia. Działalność ta była wyrazem walki o prawo do miasta, czyli o sprawczość i realny wpływ mieszkańców na kształtowanie swojej przestrzeni. Analiza skupia się na kluczowych momentach aktywizmu, w tym na walce o wpisanie dzielnicy do Rejestru Zabytków, co uchroniło tkankę historyczną przed zniszczeniem. Praca omawia również społeczne efekty działalności Stowarzyszenia, które doprowadziły do wzmocnienia sprawczości mieszkańców, budowania lokalnej tożsamości oraz ustanowienia nowego standardu partycypacji publicznej w Toruniu.

This bachelor's thesis is a case study of the activities of a grassroots urban movement - the Bydgoskie Przedmieście Association, active in Toruń from 2007–2020. The work focuses on the history and outcomes of the Association's actions, which, despite a lack of formal registration, played a crucial role in protecting architectural heritage and in the social and cultural revitalization of the district. The work also includes a contemporary description of the district, taking into account its condition before the start of the activist activities. The thesis describes how the Association, by becoming the voice of the residents, effectively used media and social communica-tion to change the negative image of Bydgoskie Przedmieście. This activism was an expression of the fight for the right to the city, meaning the agency and real influence of residents in shap-ing their own space. The analysis focuses on key moments of activism, including the fight for the district's inscription into the Register of Monuments, which saved its historical substance from destruction. The work also discusses the social effects of the Association's activities, which led to the empowerment of residents, the building of local identity, and the establishment of a new standard for public participation in Toruń.
