Greater Poland nobility in the face of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth international problems during the war with Sweden in 1626-1629

Praca skupia się na ukazaniu stanowisk zajmowanych przez szlachtę wielkopolską wobec problemów międzynarodowych Rzeczpospolitej w okresie wojny o ujście Wisły 1626-1629. Wymienione zostają zagrożenia obecne w tym okresie - najczęściej natury militarnej - wraz z ich genezą i stopniem oddziaływania na poszczególne regiony państwa. Opinia Wielkopolan ukazana zostaje przede wszystkim z punktu widzenia dwóch instytucji stanowienia władzy, zajmujących szczególną rolę w omawianej społeczności - sejmiku ziemskiego województw poznańskiego i kaliskiego obradującego w Środzie oraz sejmu walnego. Autor analizuje również mechanizmy, według których kształtowało się zdanie szlachty oraz drogi uzyskiwania i obiegu informacji wśród obywateli. Z racji wagi problemu i miejsca którego dotyczy, najwięcej uwagi zostaje poświęcone kwestii wojny ze Szwecją. Zarówno w odniesieniu do niej, jak i do pozostałych zagadnień, zaznaczony zostaje także wpływ zachodzących wydarzeń na zajmowane przez szlachtę stanowiska oraz konsekwencje tego okresu zarówno dla państwa jak i lokalnej, wielkopolskiej społeczności.

The thesis focuses on showing the positions taken by the Greater Poland nobility towards the international problems of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during the war with Sweden in 1626-1629. The threats present in this period - most often of a military nature - are listed, along with their genesis and degree of impact on individual regions of the state. The opinion of the residents of Greater Poland is shown primarily from the point of view of two power-making institutions, which occupied a special role in the community - the Sejmik of the Poznań and Kalisz voivodeships gathering in Środa and the General Sejm. The author also analyzes the mechanisms according to which the opinion of the nobility and the ways of obtaining and circulating information among citizens were shaped. Due to the importance of the problem and the place it concerns, the most attention is paid to the issue of war with Sweden. Both in reference to this and to other issues there is also noted the impact of the events on the positions occupied by the nobility and the consequences of the period for both the state and the local Greater Poland community.
