Industrial heritage management in the context of contemporary cultural events

Celem pracy jest zbadanie i opisanie jak zabytki kultury przemysłowej funkcjonują w obecnej rzeczywistości i jak zostały zaadoptowane przez współczesną kulturę, która wpisuje sięw zarządzanie dziedzictwem przemysłowym. W jaki sposób współczesna kultura wpisuje się w zarządzanie dziedzictwem poprzemysłowym i kreowanie jego nowych funkcji. Określenie jak obiekty poprzemysłowe są obecnie wykorzystane lub zagospodarowane i jak oddają specyfikę regionu, w którym kultura przemysłowa stanowi jeden z zasadniczych elementów jego tożsamości. Kultura współczesna lokując się w postindustrialnych wnętrzach kreuje nowe treści i funkcje dziedzictwa przemysłowego. Działania dokonywane w wymienionych przeze mnie instytucjach budują tożsamość lokalną, bo swoje wydarzenia opierają na pobliskich mieszkańcach, wiec dzięki temu to dziedzictwo ciągle jest i będzie częścią kultury współczesnej. W pracy zastosowałam połączenie metody wywiadu bezpośredniego z analizą danych zastanych pochodzących z publikacji naukowych o zarządzaniu dziedzictwem kulturowym, historii obiektów, stron internetowych.

The main goal of this master’s dissertation is to research and describe how monuments of the industrial culture are functioning in the present reality and how they got adopted by the modern culture which fits in the industrial heritage management. Furthermore, to describe the ways that modern culture fits in post-industrial heritage management and creating of its new functions. To define how post-industrial estates are used or developed as well as how they present the specification of the region, which identity is focused around industrial culture. Modern culture which locates itself in post-industrial interiors creates new contents and functions of industrial heritage. Actions taken in the institutions listed build a local identity, as their events are based on local citizens, therefore, the heritage is still a part of a modern culture. In the dissertation I have used a connection of a direct interview and data analytics as a research method. I have acquired data from multiple research papers about industrial heritage management, historical data about buildings and multiple websites.
